Dr. Shimshon Zelniker

Dr. Shimshon Zelniker is a Professor of Political Science and the former Director of the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute. Earlier he served as Special Advisor to Prime Minister Shimon Peres and as Chairman of the Israeli Program of the Center for Foreign Policy Options. Educated at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and UCLA, Dr. Zelniker has taught at the University of Chicago, Tel Aviv University, Claremont College, Hebrew University, and UCLA. He has been an Associate Professor in Political Science at UCLA, and Head of the Department of Social Science at Beit Berl College in Israel. In the 1980s and 1990s, he also directed a major anti-apartheid leadership training program in South Africa.
